PIKA VONČINA
Pika Vončina was born in Zagreb, where she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. As a student, she was awarded the Rector’s Award. Since finishing her studies, she has been involved in illustration and has illustrated about sixty children’s books. She illustrates school textbooks and publishes illustrations in children’s magazines. With her works, she regularly participates in illustration biennials in Bratislava and Zagreb. She exhibited in Japan and at the children’s book fair in Bologna (DOCET). She collaborated with the Mala scena Theater, the “Milječni zub” Festival, the Croatian Children’s Festival, the International Museum Day , the Zagreb Puppet Theater in 2005 (the play “Letters from Zelengrad”) and the Rijeka City Puppet Theater in 2017 (the play “4 Seasons” ). She occasionally moderates art workshops. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Visual Artists and of the Croatian Association of Independent Artists.
